Craft Stall at Fringe Sunday, Edinburgh
As part Edinburgh Festival's Fringe Sunday extravaganza Alice Melvin and Laurie Hastings will be at the craft market with a stall of beautiful handmade objects. With bags, books, purses, prints, matchboxes, luggage labels and much more there will be a fine feast of handsome handmade items on display!
Come to the Meadows and enjoy some sunshine (hopefully), watch some comedy, listening to some music, soak up the atmosphere and of course visit Alice and Laurie and their lovely stall! The event is running on Sunday 10 August from 11am to 5pm and is held in the Meadows, just off North Meadow walk. For a map of where to find the market click here

Alice has just finished creating a new improved version her Alice's Edinburgh Map and Guide as well as screenprinting some brand new Cut-Out and Dress Paper Peg Dolls. Visit the online shop to check them out!

New Book Project Launched
Alice has begun work on her latest children's book project Edinburgh Cats. She is wanted to create an illustrated guide to the city and it's real feline residents. Alice is currently looking for Edinburgh cats to feature in the book so if you live in the city and own a moggy please get in touch! Bologna Illustrator's Exhibition
Alice has been selected for the 2008 Illustrators Exhibition at Bologna's Children's Book Fair. 99 illustrators were selected from 2598 submissions and Alice is the sole representative from Great Britain. An A to Z Treasure Hunt Illustration Nomination
Alice Melvin's An A to Z Treasure Hunt has been long listed for the Book Trust's Big Picture Best New Illustrators Award, a campaign with the search to find the UK's Best New Illustrators. Ten winners will be selected from the list of 27 illustrators who were all first published in the UK after 2000. Michael Rosen at Bologna Children's Book Fair will announce the winners on 31 March 2008.

Out of the Blue Arts Market
Alice will be exhibiting and selling her hand made products at the Out of the Blue Arts Market. Sharing a stand with fellow Edinburgh illustrator Laurie Hastings there will be a sumptuous array of goods to behold. From screenprinted luggage labels and illustrated matchboxes to prints and artist's books: the perfect solution to those Christmas shopping dilemmas!

An A to Z Treasure Hunt launched
Published by the Tate An A to Z Treasure Hunt is Alice's first book. Developed from her artist's book of the same name this is an interactive alphabet book for children. Readers are invited to add to each page, from putting dots on the Dalmation to finding a joke for the jester, creating a book that is unique and personal to them.
