I grew up in the picturesque seaside town of Saltburn, in north east England. I moved even further north to Scotland, (studying illustration in the city of Edinburgh), where I now live and work, from my home studio.
What I Do
My background is in screenprinting and while much of my work is now developed digitally, this process still informs a lot of my projects. I also love making and creating things — my cut-out-and-make series being one of my favourite projects to work on.
I’ve also been very fortunate to have worked with Tate since 2007, who published my very first book. I have gone on to work with them on 3 more books and an extensive range of children’s merchandise. In 2011, my work for Tate won a Book Trust Best New Illustrator Award, designed to celebrate rising talent in the field of illustration.
